This site provides information about the Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching.
The award is an honor bestowed upon Minnesota State Colleges & Universities faculty to acknowledge and reward exceptional individual professional accomplishment, and to encourage ongoing excellence, in teaching.
The Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching is intended to recognize superior teaching at our colleges and universities. The award proclaims, on behalf of the entire system, the Board of Trustees’ pride in the dedication and accomplishment of our faculty in providing instruction that prepares Minnesota’s college and university students for their professional, scholarly, and civic lives.
2009 Educators of the Year

U.S. Community College Professor of the Year Eugenia Paulus, chemistry instructor at North Hennepin Community College, was honored on Novemebr 20 in Washington, DC, as U.S.Community College Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
She is the first faculty member in the state of Minnesota ever to receive this national award.
In April, 2008, Eugenia was also named one of the four 2008 recipients of our Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching. On behalf of the Board of Trustees and all of us throughout the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, we extend warm and proud congratulations to her, her family, and her colleagues and students at North Hennepin Community College.
